Oneplus 9 vs Apple Iphone 12
This comparison is more popular than the max models, this will be a very fair comparison.
Pricing:
Pricing wise both are similar and we'll start off on that end first. the Oneplus 9 retails for Rs 50k for 128
gigs and of course the 8 gigs of Ram compare that to the Rs 78.5k option of the iPhone 12. so this is the cheapest iPhone 12 that you can get, we're not going to talk about the mini but the standard size iPhone 12 64 gigs of storage, so clearly storage space-wise and that's the case for iPhones forever, you always get shafted with your storage, apple charges ridiculous amounts for going up to 128 gigs, it's an extra Rs 10k and
if that matters to you because you can't
expand that internal storage with a
micro sd card on either device anymore. The
Oneplus 9 takes the cake you can also get this with 12 gigs of am as well as a 256GB option, you just have to pay a bit extra for that.
Display:
The second big thing
that you'll notice is the size or the
overall footprint, so clearly we have a
bigger display on the Oneplus 9 and that's mainly due to the display so 6.55 inches compared to 6.1 found over on the iPhone and the kind of display of having benefits and drawbacks themselves. On the Oneplus
9 it is a 1080p panel, so a lower screen the resolution, the Oneplus 9 pro, on the other hand, has the Quad HD screen. I wouldn't say the screen to body ratio is the best for an android phone, it doesn't go completely edge to edge,
once again that's comparing to the
Oneplus 9 Pro but, compared to the iPhone which, I think has one
of the most dated-looking displays. You
still got the oversized forehead, that's
of course the large notch and a couple
millimeters on either side and it is still
capped to a 60-hertz panel whereas over on the Oneplus 9 at least it's adaptive so it can get all the way up to 120Hz. Oneplus 9 feels quicker, it
feels snappier and in a phone of this the size you honestly can't really notice
pixel peeping and to me easily the Oneplus 9 display takes the cake. the rest of the design, both phones are still very premium you've got glass backings on both they are a fingerprint magnet whichever one you decide to get I am though still a fan of the squared-off design of the Iphones it feels a bit grippier
over on the Oneplus, you've
still got a bit of a rounded design, they
still have that alert slider or notification
slider that Oneplus is kind of famous for it's maybe one of my favorite features that I wish I saw on other phones.
Cameras:
The last major difference
that we can kind of see and of course
compare is the camera on the back and
this is where the Oneplus 9 has got a lot of hype. They're actually collaborating with Hasselblad. For the first time
one of the most iconic photography
brands in the past 50 years we
saw it came in this pretty cool media
kit with the first Hasselblad a camera that actually went to space. This
is where they're making all of the hype
around, so we're still using the sony
IMX 689 sensor that's the 48 megapixel
main, but Hasselblad is applying their color science across all of the lenses. we've also
got the Hasselblad pro mode where you
can change things like white balance
shutter, iso and it can actually shoot in 12-bit color which is pretty impressive, and if you compare that to the iPhone which we've kind of had for the longest time now,
you've still got the standard wide and
ultra-wide and in these comparisons i
was honestly not overly impressed
with the performance of the Oneplus 9. I think I was expecting a bit more coming with that Hasselblad name especially for the main sensor I found that some of the images were a bit on the cooler side and it struggled to find white balance. color
reproduction was pretty good.
Performance:
in terms of performance,
this one's a tough one as it always is
against iPhone versus android we've got
two different operating systems. On the iPhone
ios are just so optimized it's buttery
smooth it works with all of your apple products so if you're in the Apple ecosystem I think you already know the
answer over on the Oneplus 9. It does have the latest A14 bionic silicon inside. In all
honesty though oxygen os is still my
favorite skin over the top of android 11 it
mimics stock android the most and i
always give big props to Oneplus for doing that also it features the latest
Snapdragon 888
Charging:
The biggest upside
for the Oneplus is the charging, you've still got warp charge 65t,
you still get a solid 65-watt charger
in the box that is something that
Iphones sadly cannot say anymore, I know
that's a sad comparison to make these
days you can get a full day's use
in just 15 minutes of charging and i
think zero to 100 is around 29 minutes. Definitely, that's somewhere where Iphones tend to kind of lack and are kind of shitty for but with the performance of the camera not being as good as I wanted I think this comparison becomes a real toss-up.
I really think it
depends on are you a team iPhone are you stuck in that ios are you stuck in the Apple ecosystem or if you're switching to android. It's a solid option if we could get some of
those software updates to the camera
because we've got a solid display, it isn't of course quad HD, I'm willing to sacrifice that for paying less it's got a great design I know that we're not really revolutionizing anything but
I guess that is what smartphones are at
these days.
